get stationery. write thank you notes. with your dang hand!
That’s pretty much it.
It matters more to people the further we get into an AI-shaped world.
It startles me every time how much people treasure these things. It’s an artifact. It’s treasure.
It’s like you went into a time machine on their behalf, learned an antique art form in the old days, then time traveled back and gave them some of that antique art that you made.
If you really want to do it up right, get some nice forever stamps that match your taste or your team’s “thing”. Look, I even went to the United States Postal Service’s world wide web site and got you the link: here.
If you’re a cheapskate like me, you’re saying to yourself, maybe, “email is free! Even cheap stationery costs like $1 per piece!”
You right, you right.
Usually, though, if you’re going to write a note, it’s because someone did something you’d buy them a beer for. A beer for them, a beer for you, a respectable tip for your barkeep - that’s $15, easy.
So you’re not sending them a wildly expensive email. You’re getting a screaming deal on a glass of champagne.
That lasts pretty much forever (if they want it to)!
For the paper: you can get beautiful hand-drawn stuff from Lionheart Prints in New Orleans.
